The Perfect Multigenerational Getaway

FAMiLY by JW Little Griffins Kids Club is recognized as one of the largest kids' clubs in the Maldives. The shipwreck theme sparks adventure in every child, featuring a 12.8-meter pirate ship and a large swimming pool adorned with mini cabanas. The club’s unique sea-meets-jungle concept takes children through various rooms, including a tactile play area, a reading nook, a dress-up space, and a nap room. The crown jewel is the rotating schedule of 100 different activities for kids, such as beach yoga, kite flying, and cupcake decorating. Additionally, children under 12 can relish complimentary meals from specially designed menus tailored for young food lovers.
Location
A breathtaking 55-minute seaplane journey from Malé takes you to one of the exclusive resorts nestled in the remote Shaviyani Atoll. While snorkelers and divers may discover more vibrant marine life in other areas of the Maldives, this destination provides a unique experience with its seclusion, pristine horizons, and exceptionally clear night skies.
Accommodation
The villas, adorned with thatched roofs designed to resemble either an inverted dhoni boat or a heron’s beak, feature spacious beach and overwater accommodations. Each villa includes a private pool, large decks, and Aromatherapy Associates amenities. While the quality of the linens and bedding is commendable, it was somewhat disappointing and unexpected to discover plastic water bottles in the rooms instead of locally filtered and bottled water.
A design oversight, which unfortunately persisted after JW Marriott took over the resort's management in November 2019, has become evident: the bathrooms in the overwater villas are positioned facing a walkway, requiring guests to close the blinds for privacy. For those desiring more seclusion, the beach villas, nestled amidst lush greenery, offer a better option.
Dining
Here’s where the culinary experience truly shines: While food may not be the first thing that comes to mind when planning a trip to the Maldives, the JW Marriott Maldives Resort & Spa stands out as an exceptional gastronomic destination. Each meal brings delightful surprises, showcasing high-quality ingredients, stunning presentations, and exquisite flavors. Breakfast is served at Aailaa, the resort’s all-day international restaurant, while Fiamma tempts guests with delicious Italian cuisine by the poolside. For sunset drinks and flavorful Thai dishes, Kaashi is a must-visit.
The resort is also committed to its zero-kilometer food philosophy. Discover the JW Garden alongside the culinary team, where you can harvest fresh vegetables and herbs while learning about sustainable farming techniques. This engaging experience can be followed by a zero-kilometer cooking class that highlights local ingredients. The JW Garden reinforces the resort’s dedication to sustainability, providing a sensory connection to nature with its wide array of herbs, vegetables, and fruits, such as sage, coriander, lemongrass, tamarind, mango, bitter gourd, and passion fruit.
Enjoy a dinner experience at Hashi, starting with sundowner drinks on the terrace. Then, conclude your evening with an exquisite spread featuring some of the finest sushi in the entire archipelago, complemented by a variety of fine meats and fresh seafood from the open-grill restaurant, Shio.

The facilities feature an overwater spa staffed by expert therapists, a fully equipped gym, and a yoga pavilion offering complimentary classes throughout the week.
